Plastic waste is a real threat to the environment, to the oceans, their animals and, therefore, represents a huge risk for the population.

Given this situation, and having the Circular Economy model as a strategic pillar, Green Pavement Company with Fortech join their innovation and technology efforts, to provide the market with a solution that allows the transformation of residual plastic into a high-quality input achieving significant savings in the works and improving the environmental impact.

We invite you to learn more about this innovative sustainable engineering system, which seeks a new vision in the development of the country's road network.

FACTS

RECYCLED PLASTIC MODIFIER TO REPLACE BITUMEN (FOSSIL FUELS) IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC SOLUTION FOR THE PLANET.

Plastic material is synthetic or semi-synthetic organic solids that are moldable.

Plastics are typically organic polymers of high molecular mass, but they often contain other substances.  They are usually synthetic, most commonly derived from petrochemicals, but many are partially natural.

350 million tonnes of plastic per year is being produced globally.

It is being studied that plastic waste takes more than 700 years to degrade.

Laboratory tests and field studies show that recycled plastic modifiers have better resistance to moisture damage, therefore an improved riding quality results, creating a reduction in vehicle emissions released into the atmosphere as well as reduced vehicle operation costs (VOC) .  This substantial reduction in the carbon footprint can be measured by 8,800 kg CO2 greenhouse gas not used for every km.

In addition, the process of constructing the recycled plastic roads prevents more then 300 tons of greenhouse gases per year and decreases the amount of toxic fumes released into the atmosphere when attaching the asphalt.  Using PEHD plastic/rubber the amount of asphalt bitumen is reduced by an average of 5%.  Therefore approximately 850 liters of bitumen per km will not be produced.  This is an economic advantage.

Recycled Plastic Roads gives plastic bags an opportunity to zero waste.

A common plastic carrying bag in the household has a weight between 25g and 40g, therefore, five plastic bags creates 1 kg of CO2.

The Green Pavement Company is committed to removing plastic waste from the source

to prevent landfill dumping which releases massive amounts of carbon dioxide pollution daily into the atmosphere.

Case study:  Double lane road (6.5 meters) and 1km long, gives a minimum of 3 metric tons of plastic waste the opportunity to be zero wasted creating a circular economy, preventing 100 metric tons from landing in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) dumpsites.

The longterm vision is the complete eradication of plastic waste from garbage dumps, rivers, waterways and oceans and eventually the elimination of landfills in general.

CERTIFIED

Green Pavement Company /Fortech intersects third-party waste materials before they end up in landfills.

Together the companies manufacture laboratory tested formulas at their plant creating RPM's (Recycled Plastic Formulas) for low, moderate, and high traffic variations.

The GPC/Fortech modifiers replace volatile, costly, imported chemical modifiers. All RPM's are made from 100% waste materials.
